Bhagavad Gita course discussion

I’m currently working through mystery of the Bhadavad Gita course.

I don’t know what Ram Dass mean by when he says “you will read a line that Krishna says, and then you will feel strange
about it because “how could you have said that?”

What line is he talking about and can anyone speak some more about it ?

Sandra, I’m not sure if he’s speaking to a specific line in the Gita, but moreso the way it sometimes feels that when you read the words of Krishna, it feels as though it’s something you’ve said with your own mouth.

It reminds me of the experience I’ve had reading some parts of Be Here Now, where it almost feels like the words on the page are coming out of my own mind in a way!

Curious how others may interoperate this as well…

I am reading the book but not in this course. I have been listening to him quite a bit though and wonder if he is speaking of how hard it is to think of encouraging someone to fight their own family? In other words, as I let some of it sink in, you might be put off by his being told he should fight family but the deeper understanding is of detachment from the act and outcome because it is a right action? I think he touched upon it in one of his lectures. But that could just be my take.

I’m new to this community and I’m having difficulty location the self-paced course Finding Harmony in Today’s World: Ram Dass on the Mystical Wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita!. Can someone send me the link?

The courses page, it’s the 10th on the list.

It’s a cool course, has some vintage black and white videos of Ram Dass just after he got back from India full of zen and it’s soon after his guru had dropped his body

Is it like when something stirs a reaction within you, you read it and it doesn’t resonate or make sense. “How could I have said that” You reflect on it, where does its mirror in me? Work on it and see where the attaches or averts within your Atman/ pryndam (sorry ?spelling - soul/heart space)

I am going to enroll so I can better follow the topic. Thank you for sharing.

I enrolled and will start this in next day or so. I look forward to your insight!

Hi Mangala,

I’m looking for the course “Finding Harmony in Today’s World: Ram Dass on the Mystical Wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita!” and I’ve looked all over the website. Can you send me a link or give me the directions to this self-paced course?

Thanks,
Todd

Hey Todd, I can’t send you a link but It’s on the courses page, it’s the 10th on the list. Let me know if you are still having trouble

Hi Sandra, thanks for trying to explain again but I don’t know what list you’re referring to. How do I get to this list?

Thanks,
Todd

It’s the 9th one on this list

Hope this helps, I’m not too tec savy

Hi Sandra,

Thanks again for all your help. I see that you’ve logged into teachable and you see 9 courses listed. When I log into teachable I only see 2 courses. They both appear to be free: one is titled “Cookbook for a Sacred Life” and the other is “Legacy Retreat”. Do you know why that is? I paid ~$110 to take Finding Harmony in Today’s World: Ram Dass on the Mystical Wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita! I wonder if I need someone to edit my privileges so I see all the courses. If so, I already sent Rachael 2 emails and she hasn’t replied. Can you suggest someone else?

Todd

In the past, I’ve had trouble when logging in from the ‘teach able app’ but able to access course content when logging in from chrome or the internet browser

I’ve messaged Rachel too but this is her email

rachael@ramdass.org

Best of luck

I love RD opening line, something about being Jew in Buddhist temple talking about an ancient Hindu text and Christ and Allah.

These talks between RD and Trungpa Rinpoche was supposed like a holy tennis match. Are the talks of Trungpa Rinpoche from this time available anywhere?
